DEEDS HOLD-UPS OVER FESTIVE SEASON

The Deeds Office recently announced that it will close at 10h00 on Friday 23 December 2011 and will reopen only on 03 January 2012.

In addition, as advised in our newsflash dated 31 October 2011, the City of Cape Town municipality stopped processing rates clearance applications for a 10 day period from 18 November onwards to prepare for the installation of a new system (ISIS). We have now been advised that the municipality is unfortunately struggling with technical difficulties relating to the new system’s functioning which is why no rates clearance certificates have been issued since 25 November.

This negatively impacts on the turnaround time to lodge and register property transactions and is unfortunately out of our control. We are doing our utmost to have all other aspects of your transaction in place, so that lodgement can proceed as soon as possible after the required clearance certificate is issued and the deeds office in operation.
