We are pleased to announce the appointment of Sarah Petersen to the STBB team in East London/King Williams Town.
Sarah is an experienced conveyancer who has, for the past seven years, been practising for her own account under the name and style of Kriel Petersen Attorneys in East London. Sarah brings with her valuable experience and will assist Nikhail Munsamy in the daily running of the East London/King Williams Town Office.

Regulation 35(2) of the Deeds Registries Act, quoted below, must however still be complied with.
Reg 35(2) “Conditions must therefore be inserted in deeds in the official language in which they were constituted, provided that where any conditions are embodied in a registered deed in another official language, such language may be perpetuated in subsequent deeds.”
The recent amendment of the jurisdiction of the King Williams Town deeds office, prompted us to open up offices in East London and King Williams Town so as to ensure that we continue to offer the same correspondent service to our clients where we are needed, on the doorstep of the deeds office.

There are troubling statistics regarding the steady increase in online fraud in conveyancing transactions. Bearing in mind that the Attorneys Insurance Indemnity Fund issued a statement last year that it would no longer cover ‘cyber crimes’ with effect from July 2016, there is escalating pressure on conveyancing firms to combat this form of fraud.
